Service Description

The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF) qualification has been designed in-line with the current Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements and is ideal for: • Those who have gained a level 2 or 3 childcare qualification and have entered into an early years setting and wish to be included in the staff to child ratios to comply with the EYFS requirements. • Owners and staff of baby and children's businesses, such as baby classes, toddler groups, soft play centres, children's activity providers and sports clubs. • Anyone who cares for babies and young children. Successful candidates will be equipped with the skills needed to deal with a range of paediatric first aid situations. What will you learn? Roles and responsibilities of the first Aider ​Incident and casualty assessment Unconscious casualty ​The Recovery position CPR for Infant and Child with use of AED Choking Infant and Child ​Epilepsy ​Wounds, bleeding and shock ​Bites and Stings ​Accident recording Other Information: Assessment is continuous throughout the day and there is also a multiple choice question paper. On completion of the course a 3 year certificate will be issued subject to passing assessments. Learners must be physically capable of carrying out the practical aspects of the course and must be a minimum 14yrs of age. Free parking available at venue. Tea/coffee & biscuits provided
