Service Description
The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF) qualification has been designed in-line with the current Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements and is ideal for: • Those who have gained a level 2 or 3 childcare qualification and have entered into an early years setting and wish to be included in the staff to child ratios to comply with the EYFS requirements. • Owners and staff of baby and children's businesses, such as baby classes, toddler groups, soft play centres, children's activity providers and sports clubs. • Anyone who cares for babies and young children. Successful candidates will be equipped with the skills needed to deal with a range of paediatric first aid situations. What will you learn? Roles and responsibilities of the first Aider Incident and casualty assessment Unconscious casualty The Recovery position CPR for Infant and Child with use of AED Choking Infant and Child Epilepsy Wounds, bleeding and shock Bites and Stings Accident recording Other Information: Assessment is continuous throughout the day and there is also a multiple choice question paper. On completion of the course a 3 year certificate will be issued subject to passing assessments. Learners must be physically capable of carrying out the practical aspects of the course and must be a minimum 14yrs of age. Free parking available at venue. Tea/coffee & biscuits provided
