Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid RQF (SQA Level 6)

This 6 hour course is suitable for those who want to have a good understanding of emergency baby and child first aid. It is ideal for those who work with children, but who are not required to comply with the Ofsted/EYFS requirements. This is also the first unit of the 2 day course. It can either be carried out over 1 day or split into two evenings.

  • Roles and responsibilities of the first Aider

  • ​Incident and casualty assessment

  • Unconscious casualty

  • ​The Recovery position

  • CPR for Infant and Child with use of AED

  • Choking Infant and Child

  • ​Epilepsy

  • ​Wounds, bleeding and shock

  • ​Bites and Stings

  • ​Accident recording

 

 

Other Information:

 

Assessment is continuous throughout the day and there is also a multiple choice question paper. On completion of the course a 3 year certificate will be issued subject to passing assessments. Learners must be physically capable of carrying out the practical aspects of the course and must be a minimum 14yrs of age.

 

Guide price for an individual learner is £60. Discounts are offered for large groups and on-site training
